Ladderback chair with rush seat
This 19th Century Ash ladderback chair has a new fibre-rush seat (carried out in-house). The legs are turned on club feet with twin stretchers to sides and back. Turned stretcher to front and mid-section. The style is provincial, either American or with Americal influences. A lovely antique chair showing it’s age but with sound joints and no “wobbly” legs.

This table is quite unique. We have used Wellingtonia wood (giant sequoia) which is a Californian redwood. We have kept the wonderful colours and detail of the wood to create a striking hand made table using traditional furniture making methods. This beautiful wood has been sealed with two coats of a hard wax oil creating a very durable finish which will withstand daily family use and measures 36″ x 54″. The base has been hand painted using Annie Sloan chalk paints then waxed for protection. Definitely a talking piece. Equally, this piece would make a great desk at home or in an office.
We can arrange delivery at a rate of 70p per mile. Please ask for details.

SOLD Country Hepplewhite style Georgian bureau
This beautiful and unusual Country Hepplewhite style Georgian bureau is made of oak and mahogany with later bracket feet. It has ivory inlaid escutcheons, one of which has been replaced during restoration using Tagua Nut which is an acceptable plant-based alternative to ivory. It has the original turned knobs. The oak drawers have mahogany cock beading and rather than the usual pull-out lopers to support the fall front (drop down desk), it has two pull out drawers. The inside is fitted with pigeon holes and a not very secret compartment. There are no keys. Some evidence of historic worm but fully treated as a matter of course. There are also dings and nicks that you would expect from a well-used and antique piece of furniture. This only adds more character to it.
This bureau has been restored to make it a fully functional piece of furniture that offers charm and character. The patina is truly wonderful and the bureau would not only be very functional but would look great in a country-style setting. It offers many years worth of use.
